PDP shifts NEC meeting to November 28
    By NEXTER
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors and other stakeholders have postponed the October 24 National Executive Committee (NEC) to November 28.
The decision to postponed the meeting was reached after intensive deliberation that lasted for four hours on Tuesday night.
NEXTER reports that the meeting, which commenced at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, continued into the early hours of Wednesday.
The meeting, originally slated for August, was first moved to September, then to October 2, and now has been pushed back to November 28.
The meeting was attended by various organs of the party, including the PDP Governors’ Forum, the Board of Trustees, the National Working Committee (NWC), the National Assembly Leadership of the PDP Caucus, and the Forum of Former Governors.
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, told journalists at the end of the meeting which took place at the Bauchi Governors’ Lodge in Asokoro, that the decision was to allow the party prosecute the Ondo Governorship election slated for November 16.
Bauchi State Governor said the postponement was necessary to allow party leaders to focus their efforts on the upcoming Ondo governorship election, scheduled for November 16, 2024. The party aims to present a united front and muster the strength required to unseat the incumbent All Progressive Congress (APC) government in the state.
He called upon all PDP members to refrain from making divisive statements that could undermine the ongoing efforts to strengthen the party’s position as the main opposition, in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
