Niger CJ approves official seal for Magistrates

The Chief Judge of Niger state, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik has approved the use of official seal for Magistrates in the state in accordance with the provision of Administration of Criminal Justice Law 2022(ACJL).
The Chief Registrar of the state high court, Hajiya Amina Musa Saidu stated this in a press statement issued on Monday in Minna.
She said, “This seal shall be kept under each Magistrate’s custody to be used for all purposes for which it may be required as prescribed under the ACJL or any other applicable law. The seal may be used by the courts to authenticate documents and orders issued by Magistrates, such as judgments, rulings, orders, and other documents requiring official endorsement”.
According to her, the seal has the names of the magistrates, designations and the inscription, “The Magistrate Court of Niger State”, adding that it is to aid in the performance of their duties and to add another layer of authenticity and security to the documents signed by them .
The Chief Registrar explained that the approval of Official Seals for Magistrates is in Accordance with Section 6B (3), (4), & (5) of the Niger State Administration of Criminal Justice Law 2022(ACJL).
