Gov. Sule flags -off remodeling of schools by mining company in Nasarawa

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has flagged-off the complete remodeling of L.G.E.A Primary School Ego and that of Agaza in Kokona LGA of Nasarawa State.
The remodeling of the affected schools is being carried out by a mining company operating in the area, Black Gem New Energy Company Ltd as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
The works on the facilities involved renovation, fencing and construction of blocks of class rooms at primary and secondary schools in Ego and Agaza communities.
Governor Sule said the remodeling of the schools if completed would improve on the standard of education in the area.
The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Education, Dr. John D.W. Mamman lauded the mining company for the noble initiative.
He charged the benefitting communities to take advantage of the schools by sending their wards to acquire education.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to key into different policies and programmes that would have direct bearing on the education sector.
On his part, the member representing Kokona East constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi commended Governor Sule for attracting investors to the state via mining activities.
He particularly thanked the governor for granting mining license to Black Gem New Energy Co. Ltd to mine in their communities and contributing in development initiatives in the area.
He charged the youths of the area to provide conducive atmosphere to the company to enable carry out it’s operations.
Also speaking at the occasion, the traditional Ruler of Agwada, said that the existence of the company in the area was a good omen for the people as it has started yielding positive results with the ongoing effort to provide education infrastructure in the benefiting communities.
He said the laudable initiative by the company will go a long way in complementing government efforts in the education sector of the state.
He urged the people of the area to give the company the necessary support to enable it succeed.
On his part, the Managing Director of the Company, Mr Andy Zhong appreciated Governor Sule and the community for providing the enabling environment for them to operate.
He promised that the company will discharge its duties effectively and fulfill all its community development agreements and corporate social responsibility to host communities.
