    Fire guts popular market in Minna , Bago sympathises with victims

    The popular Gwari market in Minna, the Niger State capital, has been razed by fire.

    The inferno reportedly broke out Monday afternoon in which several shops were burnt.

    The Governor of Niger State, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has sympathised with traders around the Gwari Market, Minna over the fire disaster , confirming that the destruction of many shops and goods worth millions of Naira.

    In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the farmer Governor describes the incident as unfortunate and heart-wrenching.

    He said, “it is sad and painful for anyone to lose his or her source of livelihood, especially in this economically difficult period”.

    He extended his deepest sympathy and concern to those affected by the fire incident.

    He said, “I enjoin you to be steadfast in the will of Creator who has allowed the incident to happen and can replenish all that you have lost to the fire disaster”.

    The farmer Governor directed relevant MDAs to immediately swing into action, to ascertain the cause of the incident with a view to averting recurrence, as well as providing relief to the victims.

    He reassured the people that his administration will continue to give priority to issues that affect their well-being.
