Former Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has urged Governors to emulate their colleague, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger state in his commitment to development in agriculture and youth empowerment.

The Special Adviser to the Niger State Governor on Print Media, Aisha Wakaso stated this in a statement issued in Minna at the weekend

She explained that Kwankwaso spoke at the 60th birthday celebration of Bishop Idahosa Isaac Odiri, the 2023 Vice Presidential candidate of the NNPP, in Lagos at the weekend.

“Kwankwaso hailed Governor Bago’s leadership style and commitment to development, particularly in the areas of agriculture, youth empowerment and education. He called on other Governors to emulate farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru in areas of development strides in agriculture, youth empowerment and education”, the statement said.

The Special Adviser also quoted the NNPP 2023 Presidential candidate as saying that the Governor’s recent initiative to sponsor young people abroad for science related courses is commendable and in the right direction.

According the statement, “Kwankwaso urged Governor Bago to continue investing in young people saying that they are the real investment as they transcend material wealth”, adding that if you continue this way, doing well and investing in young people, they will appreciate you in the future.

While commending Farmer Governor Bago for doing exceptionally well with his two years in office, Kwankwaso said “You don’t have to be a member of my party for me to acknowledge your good work. Stay in your party, but I will say it when you are doing well and when you are doing exceptionally well.”

He said “two years down the line, I can confidently say that Governor Bago has scored excellently so far. I call on all governors across the country to emulate what he is doing. Those who have the opportunity to govern now and in the future must strive to do their best, change the narrative, and improve the lives of their people.”
