The Chief Executive Officer of the Overland Airways, Captain Edward Boyo has promised that the commencement of flight operations in Niger state by the airline will transform the state into regional trade and tourism hub of Africa continent
Captain Boyo stated this on Friday while addressing journalists to confirm the commencement of scheduled flight operations by the airline from the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna to Lago and Abuja
He said, ” this achievement comes through the visionary leadership of the Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, the strategic efforts of the New Niger Development Project (NNDP) and New Niger Aviation (NNA) which is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) created to manage and enhance the aviation ecosystem in Niger State”.
Captain Boyo assured that the partnership with Overland Airways—Nigeria’s longest-serving private domestic airline—represents a key milestone in actualizing Governor Bago’s infrastructural development blueprint
He explained that the partnership will also repositioned Niger State as a regional hub for investment, trade, and tourism.
“We are honoured to be chosen as the launch airline for this historic route, “This service underscores our commitment to expanding connectivity across Nigeria and partnering with visionary governments like Niger state to bring growth closer to the people”, he said
In a remark, the Chief Operating Officer of New Niger Aviation (NNA), Alhaji Liman Katamba Kutigi described the launch of the air route as a bridge to several opportunities.
“By partnering with Overland Airways, we are setting a new standard in regional air connectivity, with safety, reliability, and economic. This is the beginning of a broader agenda to transform Niger State into a key player in Nigeria’s aviation and logistics corridor”, he explained
