    YOBE philanthropist, Tumsah plans more water projects for communities

    Popular Yobe philanthropist, Kashim Musa Tumsah, has announced plans to commence another water projects for communities across the state in the ongoing effort to compliment the effort of Governor Mai Mala Buni in addressing water shortage in the state.

    In a post on his social media handle, the oil and gas lawyer and diplomat said the next phase of water project through solar-powered boreholes was being put together along with his friends as a way of appreciating Allah for allowing him experience another birthday.

    Recall that many communities in the state have benefited from solar water and street lights projects by Tumsah under the Light Up Yobe Initiative which was designed to provide communities in dire need of clean and potable water.

    In the planned phase of the intervention, the philanthropist urged community members where water shortages are prevalent to take part in the process.

    “In order to compliment the laudable efforts of the Governor Mai Mala Buni led Administration, and in expressing my gratitude to Almighty Allah for allowing me see another birthday. My friends and I are calling on all Yobe state citizens to take part in the next phase of our water provision to Yobe communities project.

    “The water project which is a part of the Light Up Yobe Initiative is intended to provide communities in dire need of clean and potable water with Solar powered boreholes,” the post said.

    According to the information he provided, benefiting communities are to be selected based on nominations stating the village/town, ward and local government areas.

    It stated that towns/villages with the most nominations in each Local Government Area will qualify for solar boreholes immediately.

    The information barred local government headquarters from the phase of the initiative which targets indigent rural communities only.

    It noted that nominations would run for two weeks, while urging other well to do with and outside the state to play their roles by giving back to the society.
