    Minna
The Deputy Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba on Thursday shunned Workers Day celebration as the rift between him and his boss, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago takes deeper dimension.
At the event, the Niger State workers conferred on Governor Bago the award of ” Workers Hero” while his Deputy and former NLC leader was conspicuously absent.
Although while observing protocol in addressing the workers, Governor Bago said his Deputy was absent because of important assignment, some protocol staff of the Deputy Governor office were seen at the parade ground before they later disappeared.
It was learnt that the Governor and his Deputy are having quarrel over the selection of candidates for Local Government Chairmen positions in zone B the constituency of Comrade Yakubu Garba.
It was also learnt the the Senatorial ambition of the Deputy Governor for 2027 Niger East Senatorial District has pitched him against his boss.
However Governor farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has dismissed reports of rift with his Deputy insisting that his relationship with his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba is perfect and harmonious.
The farmer Governor made this known while answering questions from Journalists on his relationship with his Deputy shortly after the Workers Day celebration in Minna.
According to him, “we are a team, they can’t break us, our focus is on the goal, and we will achieve it”.
He enjoined the people to uphold their support for his administration, assuring that a new Niger is possible.
