The senator representing Edo south, Neda Imasuen, has announced his defection from the Labour Party (LP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Imasuen, who chairs the senate committee on ethics, privileges and public petitions, cited internal crisis within the LP for his decision to leave the party.
He said he would formally join the ruling party on June 12.
The senator said the defection is part of activities to mark his second anniversary in office.
