    Group Urges Tinubu/Shettima Coordinator To Vie For Nasarawa Governorship Seat

    A former national coordinator of Tinubu/Shettima Independent Campaign Council (ICC) Dr. Silas Agara has been called upon to contest the Nasarawa State Governorship election in 2027.

    The Nasarawa Patriotic Youth Alliance(NAPYA), Nasarawa West Senatorial District Local Government Areas coordinators made the call in a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday in Lafia.

    Dr. Agara, a former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State is current Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE).

    The youth in the statement signed by the various local governments coordinators in from the western zone, believed that Dr. Agara is the ideal candidate to occupy the governorship seat in 2027 due to his impressive credentials in governance, leadership, and community service.

    The coordinators include Adamu Bashir, Toto LGA; Yahaya Muhammadu Baba, Nasarawa LGA; Abubakar Hamza, Keffi; Comrade Kefas Danladi, Karu; and Comrade Muruku Abel, Kokona respectfully.

    “As a pragmatic leader who has served Nasarawa State and Nigeria since 2003, Agara possesses the necessary qualities to lead the state to greater heights.

    “As a role model for the youth constituency in Nasarawa State, Dr. Silas Agara has championed remarkable youth empowerment initiatives, placing many young people in leadership positions, providing economic empowerment, and facilitating higher educational attainment.

    “Agara’s track record as an astute administrator is evident in his significant contributions to the successes of various administrations in Nasarawa State, serving as Commissioner, Special Adviser, and Deputy Governor under Governor Abdullahi Adamu( 2003-2007), Aliyu Akwe Doma(2007-2009) and Umaru Tanko Al-makura(2011-2019)

    “He has made a landmark impact in the sporting sector of the state and the nation, currently serving as the chairman national league one, national president Karate federation of Nigeria, thereby promoting grassroots and national sports development.

    “His tenure as Federal Commissioner of the National Population Commission (NPC) in charge of Nasarawa State enhanced the state’s demographic data.

    “Furthermore, his leadership at the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has brought about positive reforms, providing modern skills and jobs for thousands of Nigerian youths through the Renewed Hope youth empowerment initiative.

    “He has also facilitated lucrative federal government appointments for several indigines of Nasarawa State, restoring hope and confidence for those who laboured for the party, the All Progressive congress APC during the 2023 general elections.

    “Dr. Agara’s approach to politics and governance is devoid of ethnic and religious considerations, demonstrated by his fair distribution of resources and empowerment across all boards, faiths, and creeds.

    “His sponsorship of youths for international media training in China in November 2024 is a testament to his commitment to the development of the state.

    “Given his impressive credentials and achievements, we, the Nasarawa Patriotic Youths Alliance(NAPYA) appeal to H.E. Silas Ali Agara to join the Nasarawa State governorship race in 2027 as the most qualified and competent leader the state has been waiting for,” the group explained.
