The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, is set to resign from his position.
The move by the national chairman to exit his position is reportedly part of the plan by the governing party to calm agitations among stakeholders from the North-Central zone, who have consistently demanded the return of the party’s top office to the zone.
Reports said Ganduje, a former governor of Kano State, would be succeeded by one of the party’s national vice chairmen in acting capacity until a substantive chairman is elected at the APC national convention scheduled for December 2025.
According to reports, preparations for a formal handover were already underway.
