The All Progressives Congress (APC) House Representatives candidate for Chanchaga
Federal Constituency, Hon. Adamu Abubakar (Salami), has urged the youths and all eligible citizens to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise to obtain or update their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
Speaking in Minna on Friday, Salami explained that meaningful participation in democracy begins with voter registration which would enable them choose leaders of their choice.
This, he could surely infuence the outcome of elections as your voice matters.
He described the PVC as more than an electoral document, adding that, ” it is the key that unlocks every citizen’s constitutional right to detemine the direction of governance in the state and country”.
Salami appealed to first-time voters, students, artisans, entrepreneurs and other young people across Chanchaga Federal Constituency to embrace the registration exercise as a civic responsibility rather than waiting until election campaigns commenced.
He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that all eligible voters that turnout for the exercise are captured and duly registered with the issuance of their voters card ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He also urged the commission to address the issue associated with the online registration of voters card by eliminating the difficulty associated with the process to encourage all eligible voters to be registered.
Salami expressed confidence that the outcome of the exercise will be success with the level of cooperation of the general public, the commission as well as security agents.
