Nasarawa Assembly approves N156.6bn 2024 supplementary budget

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has passed the 2024 Supplementary Budget into law, totaling N156.687 billion under the Consolidated Revenue Fund.
The bill, titled, the Supplementary/Amended Appropriation Bill, 2024, was approved for funding services across the state.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Mr.Danladi Jatau, announced the bill’s passage during today’s proceedings in Lafia. He noted that once signed by the Governor, the supplementary appropriation would empower the state to complete ongoing projects and initiatives.
“The total recurrent expenditure after adjustments stands at N150.310 billion, while the capital expenditure is N206.257 billion,” the Speaker stated. “This brings the total 2024 budget, post-adjustment, to N356.567 billion.”
The Speaker instructed the Clerk of the House to prepare a clean copy of the bill for the Governor’s assent.
Earlier, Rt. Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala, the Deputy Majority Leader, moved the motion for the bill’s third reading, seconded by Minority Leader Hon. Luka Iliya Zhekaba. The Assembly unanimously passed the bill into law.
This development follows the Assembly’s initial approval of a N199.8 billion budget in December 2023. With the supplementary budget, the total Nasarawa State Government budget for 2024 now stands at N356.5 billion.
