Malam Nma Kolo, Special Adviser Political to the Niger state Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago, has paid glowing tribute to the late Imam of Minna, Sheikh Isah Fari, describing him as an embodiment of humility and kindness.
Sheikh Fari died Saturday night at the age of 93. He served as the Chief Imam of Minna for over two decades.
In a tribute he personally signed and made available to NEXTER on Sunday in Minna, Nma Kolo, who holds the traditional title of Jawon Minna, said the late Fari would be greatly missed for his guidance, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to Islamic principles.
He said, “Today, we bid farewell to a shining example of humility, piety, and dedication to service.
“Mallam Ibrahim Fari, the revered Chief Imam of Minna, leaves behind a legacy of compassion, integrity, and devotion to Allah.
“A true gentleman, Mallam Ibrahim Fari embodied the values of humility and kindness. His down-to-earth nature made him accessible to all, regardless of social standing or background. His commitment to farming, despite holding a prominent religious position, demonstrated his simplicity and willingness to remain grounded.
“Timekeeping was a hallmark of his character, reflecting his respect for others and his punctuality in worship. His promise was his bond, and those who knew him cherished his reliability.
“As Chief Imam, Mallam Ibrahim Fari’s leadership inspired countless Muslims in Minna. His guidance, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to Islamic principles earned him the admiration and respect of his community.
“The massive turnout at his funeral prayer today testifies to the impact of his life and service. Thousands gathered to pay their respects, reflecting the profound influence he had on the lives of many.
“We pray that Allah: Forgive his sins and shortcomings; have mercy on his soul and grant him peace; pardon his mistakes and accept his good deeds; and grant him a high rank in Jannah, alongside the righteous.
“Mallam Ibrahim Fari’s legacy will continue to inspire generations. May his exemplary life serve as a reminder to us all to cultivate humility, compassion, and devotion to our faith.
“Rest in peace, dear Mallam Ibrahim Fari. Your memory will be cherished, and your contributions to our community will never be forgotten.”
