    6 countries now take our examinations – NECO * More schools accredited in Niger Republic, Equitorial Guinea

    The National Examinations Council (NECO) has accredited six foreign schools to write the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) and the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in a global presence expansion policy.

    The Acting Director of Information and Public Relations of the Council, Azeez Sani stated this on Saturday in a statement in Minna

    He explained that NECO has also accredited more schools in Niger Republic and Equitorial Guinea in addition to existing ones in the countries

    He said, “The newly accredited schools in addition to the existing ones, are in Niger Republic and Equitorial Guinea. NECO Accreditation Team visited the Schools to assess their readiness to write the SSCE and BECE”.

    He explained that the Accreditation Team inspected Classrooms, Laboratories, Libraries, Computer Laboratories, workshops, Examination Halls and Sport facilities to determine their adequacy and suitability for NECO Examinations.

    “After a thorough evaluation and comprehensive assessment, the schools were granted full SSCE and full BECE accreditation status.The accreditation of additional foreign schools is a testament to NECO’s commitment to providing quality education and assessment beyond the shores of Nigeria”, he said.

    The Acting Director explained that with its expanding global presence, the council is poised to become a leading examination body in Africa, offering opportunities for students worldwide to benefits from its expertise.

    He listed the six countries where NECO examinations are now written by candidates to include Benin Republic, Togo, Cote’d Ivoire, Niger Republic, Equitorial Guinea and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

    In another development, Azeez Sani said that candidates are participating in the on-going NECO SSCE External in Diffa, Niger Republic, adding that, ” the UNHCR School, Diffa, Niger Republic is the first NECO SSCE External Centre outside Nigeria”.
