    100 students get Niger scholarship to study medicine

    Niger State Government has offered scholarship to 100 students from Agwara local government area to study Medical related courses within and outside Nigeria.

    Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago stated this while on a visit to Agwara, in continuation of his Statewide projects monitoring tour.

    He said, “the award of scholarship in the medical field is aimed at producing adequate and qualified health workers that would attend to the health needs of the people of Agwara and the state in general “.

    The farmer Governor explained that going forward, the Level 2 Primary Healthcare in Agwara will be gradually upgraded to a general Hospital for improved and effective healthcare services.

    He encouraged parents, to take advantage of the free education in the State and register their children, as education is a key to opening many doors.

    The farmer Governor also promised to build a market in Agwara to boost trade, considering the huge agricultural potential in the area.

    Bago also visited the palace of Sarkin Agwara, Alh. Hassan Zakari Mohammed for royal blessings, and thanked him for the support of governmentprogrammes.

    The Governor also inspected the Bi-water project in Rofia community, where he assured that the people will have access to potable water in the nest 3 months.
