Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger state has described the appointment of former APC chairman in the state, Honourable Zakari Haliru Jikantoro as a board member of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC ) as a well-deserved recognition of his immense contribution to the development of the entire region.
The Governor stated this in a congratulatory message issued in Minna on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim.
He said, “the appointment of Alhaji Zakari Haliru Jikantoro is a well-deserved and pleasing one.
As the former Niger State APC Chairman and former Commissioner of Agriculture, he has demonstrated capacity, hard work, and commitment to the growth and development of the state and the region in general “.
The farmer governor expresses confidence that Honourable Jikantoro has the wherewithal to make meaningful contributions on behalf of Niger State to address the challenges confronting the North-Central region, such as insecurity, infrastructural deficit, and women and youth empowerment, among others, which he said would fast-track development of the region.
Governor Bago assured him of his unflinching support to ensure success in providing quality representation of the state at the NCDC for the state, the North-Central region, and Nigeria in general.
The farmer governor appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment, assuring that Niger State through Honourable Jikantoro will ensure the objective of the NCDC is achieved.
