    By Saidu Adamu, Jalingo

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC and former governorship aspirant, Chief David Sabo Kente (DSK) has commended the level of Private sector growth in Taraba State, noting that the government needs to pay more attention to infrastructural development.

Kente who made the observation while addressing journalists in Jalingo to mark the State’s 34th anniversary said that the North East Development Commission NEDC needs to introduce more intervention projects in the state, especially in areas of road construction like it’s done in other states across the region.

Chief Kente, a former commissioner representing Taraba State at the Commission also called on the State Government to get a consultant who will engage the commission more often to bring development to the State.

“So far so good. The journey may not have met our expectations but we are making progress. We have the private sector doing very well in the State with new Hotels, schools, shopping malls and more.

“However, the State Government needs to do more. The private sector thrives when there is security so I think judging from Jalingo, we have improved and there is relative peace even though more needs to be done.

“I have had a lot of complains about the present administration in the State and I have given my voice to these concern. Definitely, the governor needs to do a lot more in the next Two years.

“The NEDC should look at Taraba State with compassion. No single road has been done by the commission in the State, unlike what is tenable in other States in the region. I also call on the State government to liaise more with the commission by appointing a consultant who will liaise with the commission on behalf of the governor or the state. ” He advised.

Kente said that some of the policies of the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu such as “the removal of subsidy, floating of the Naira and new tax reforms have brought untold hardship to the people.

“However, these policies are the best thing that has happened to Nigeria” and urge the people to be patient as the benefits of some of the policies are already manifesting.

The Philanthropist and business mogul maintained that the victory of the APC in the last State Constituency by-election in the PDP controlled State shows that the APC is ready to unseat the PDP in 2027.

“Unless measures are taken, things may change in the coming elections. If we put our house in order as it is now, we would win our elections”, he observed.

He pointed out that the by-election in Karim shows how 2027 is going to be.

“Whoever stands in our way, we would remove the person with the electorates vote. The APC is no longer what it used to be. We are now united and are determined to takeover the State in 2027. That is what you saw in Karim-Lamido State Constituency by-election” he said.

On the gang-up and the coalition against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kente was optimistic that no amount of opposition can stop Tinubu in 2027.

“I want to sound without fear of contradiction that Tinubu’s victory in 2027 is guaranteed, Nigerians will queue behind our president massively and at the end of the election, APC will sing the victory song “. He said
