Abductors of the 18-seater New Edo Line Transport Company bus’ passengers and that of a Toyota Camry are demanding N15 million ransom per a victim.
The passengers were abducted by gunmen along Owan-Auchi road on September 5.
It was gathered that the kidnappers contacted the family of one of the victims identified as Gloria Ikhaghu to put across their demand.
Gloria Ikhaghu was returning to her base after the funeral ceremony of her late father in Okpekpe community, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State when she was abducted along with others.
A family source who craved anonymity told journalists that the kidnapper had reached out to them, demanding for N15 million ransom.
He said they don’t have such money but pleaded with the kidnappers to spear her, as they just buried their late father.
“We are begging Governor Monday Okpebholo and everyone, to assist in the safe return of Gloria, as we don’t have such money
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Edo State Police command, CSP Moses Yamu, said he was not aware of the ransom demand.
He said operatives are still combing the bush to ensure the release of the victim unhurt
NEXTER recalls that 16 of the victims have been rescued by the Edo State Police Command.
