Body buried in uncompleted building

A 10 years old boy identified as Yaseer Mustapha of Kwana Mariga area of Niger state has been killed by his abductors after collecting N100,000 ransom from his guardian.
Mustapha was reported to have been abducted on 24th July 2025 while his guardian was away in the farm and that his abductors called him to demand a ransom of N3.5m.
It was learnt that after much negotiation, the guardian was able to raise one hundred thousand naira ( N100,000) paid into the account provided to him without informing the Police and made payment to an account provided for him.
However, Yaseer Mustapha was not released by the abductors but instead called again and demanded for payment of N10, 000 to one Abdulmajid Dan-Azumi 32yr of Kwana.
It was gathered that after payment of the amount, there was no response from the hoodlums which prompted the guardian to report the matter to the on September 13th 2025.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun confirmed this incident in Minna on Thursday .
He said, ” immediately the complaint was received and transferred to the Anti-kidnapping unit of the SCID for investigation, actions were taken and the said Abdulmajid Dan-Azumi was trailed and arrested, which also led to the arrest of his accomplice, Abdulnafiu Usman 18yrs of same Kwana-Mariga”.
SP Abiodun said that the two suspects confessed to have unfortunately killed the boy, and buried him in an uncompleted building in the neighbourhood, adding that, “the police operatives were led to the scene and the decomposed body was recovered”.
The body , according to the PPRO has been released to the family for burial rites, while the suspects have been charged to court for prosecution.
