The member representing the Kontagora, Wushishi, Mariga and Mashegu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Honourable Abdullahi Idris Garba, popularly known as Mai Solar, has emerged as the consensus candidate of the APC for the 2027 general elections.
Garba, who is seeking a sixth consecutive term in the House of Representatives, secured the endorsement following the withdrawal of fellow aspirant, Alhaji Mohammed Rabi’u Daja, also known as Dokajin Kontagora, in the interest of party unity and cohesion.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Chairman of the Bago/Mai Solar Campaign Council, Barr. Bala Marika.
He described the withdrawal as a major step toward strengthening unity within the APC in the constituency.
According to him, ” the decision by Daja to step down in support of Garba reflects a shared commitment to stability, peaceful political engagement and the collective interest of the people of Kontagora, Wushishi, Mariga and Mashegu Federal Constituency”.
He said that the step has strengthened cohesion within the All Progressives Congress and promotes a peaceful and orderly process ahead of the primaries.
He commended Alhaji Mohammed Rabi’u Daja for what it described as his sacrifice and commitment to the overall success of the party in the constituency.
Meanwhile, political stakeholders and supporters within the constituency have described the endorsement of Garba a recognition of his track record of effective representation, grassroots engagement and commitment to the welfare of his constituents over the years.
