    The Sani Bello foundation
has treated over 500 patients, provided 1,000 eyeglasses, and performed 122 cataract surgeries at free bills.

The Vice Chairman of the foundation, Usman Sani Bello stated this at the weekend during the outreach programme of the foundation in Kontagora.

He said, “we expect to exceed our target given the large turnout. We’ve distributed 1,255 medications, provided 1,000 eyeglasses, and performed 122 cataract surgeries, with more underway”.

According to him, the Sani Bello Foundation, in collaboration with the Graceland Health Development Foundation, Kaduna, organized its annual free medical and surgical outreach at the Kontagora General Hospital, Niger State, North Central Nigeria.

He explained that the initiative, which drew beneficiaries from across the country, aims to provide critical healthcare services to underprivileged populations, describing the outreach as a meaningful way to mark his father, Col Sani Bello 82nd birthday.

“This free annual surgical outreach serves as a birthday gift to the community, providing solace and relief to those in need,” he said.

Chairman of the Graceland Health Development Foundation, Kaduna, Dr. Tort Joseph praised the collaboration, highlighting its transformative impact.

“Our partnership with the Sani Bello Foundation is driven by a shared commitment to assisting vulnerable individuals in society,” Dr. Joseph said.

He added that “Over the past eleven years, this initiative has changed countless lives through surgeries such as cataract removals, other eye surgeries, and the provision of eyeglasses.”
