Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has announced that he has secured over ₦30 billion in development projects to uplift the lives of his constituents and surrounding areas.

The funding, facilitated through President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aims to bolster infrastructure and agricultural productivity in the region.

In a statement posted on his official X account on Wednesday evening, Senator Nwoko expressed pride in the achievement, highlighting the transformative potential of the initiatives.

“I am proud to announce that through President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, I have facilitated over ₦30 billion in projects aimed at transforming the lives of the people of Delta North and beyond,” he wrote.

The senator detailed that the projects, financed through special intervention funds from the presidency, will address critical infrastructure gaps and enhance food security.

Among the key initiatives is the Benin-Owena River Basin Authority project, which includes the construction of treatment plants and reticulation systems at the completed Ogwashi-Uku Dam in Aniocha South.

Another significant undertaking is the Idumuje Dam project in Aniocha North, where an investment of over ₦7.5 billion is expected to accelerate water management solutions.

Additionally, irrigation systems are being prioritised across the region to support year-round farming, alongside the provision of quality seedlings, fertilisers, and farming implements for local farmers.

“These projects are not only a testament to my commitment to the people of Delta North but also a direct result of the strong relationship I have with President Tinubu and the Federal Government,” Senator Nwoko added. He emphasised that the collaboration would pave the way for a “prosperous and thriving Delta State.”
