The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Monday Agbonika, said the police has intensified manhunt for the killers of eight officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the rescue of kidnapped Chinese expatriate in Edo State.

The commissioner said this when he paid on-the-spot assessment visit to the BUA cement factory, in Okpella, Etsako East local government area where the incident occured.

Agbonika described the attack as a dastardly act that will not go unpunished.

He reaffirmed the command’s resolve to work in synergy with other security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice.

” The command is intensifying operational efforts to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted expatriate, while strengthening security deployments in the area to forestall a recurrence”.

While calling for calm and cooperation from residents, he urged them to provide timely and credible information to aid the ongoing operations.

According to him, the command’s remains steadfast in its duty to protect lives and property.

“We will not relent until criminal elements threatening the peace of the State are identified and made to face justice” he said.

NEXTER recalls that gunmen suspected to be kidnappers had on September 5, killed eight personnel of the NSCDC, injured four others and kidnapped one expatriate.
