Breaking: Bago secures APC governorship ticket to run for a second term
* 27 Governor’s loyalists get Assembly tickets

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger state has secured the APC ticket to run for a second term as the as the only governorship aspirant that purchased the party nomination forms.
The emerged on Thursday in an affirmation vote at the srate APC secretariat conducted by national officials of the party led by Alhaji Danladi Abubakar Mohammed.
The governor emerged unopposed after APC card-carrying members from all 277 wards across the state unanimously endorsed him as their sole candidate for the 2027 Governorship election in Niger state
A motion was moved for the adoption of
Governor Mohammed Umar Bago as the consensus and sole candidate of the APC in the 2027 Governorship election by Senator Mohammed Sani Musa the Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District at the National Assembly and seconded by member representating Gurara at the state House of Assembly, Honourable Afiniki Dauda.
In the same vain, the Chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee, Alhaji Danladi Abubakar Mohammed also affirmed the 27 candidates for the Niger State House of Assembly who won the party primaries.
However, four of them emerged through direct primary while 23 was through consensus.
In a remarks, the Niger state APC chairman, Alhaji Aminu Musa Bobi appreciate the party members for the unity, support, understanding, patience in ensuring the a peaceful conduct and success of the primaries in the state.
In his acceptance speech, Governor Mohammed Umar Bago thanked Nigerlites for their opportunity to serve and assured citizens of his commitment to deliver more dividend of democracy to the residents of the state.
According to him, the affirmation says alot and shows the bond between him and the people and shows of love for the party which will not be taken for granted
