Atiku Coordinators Hold Inaugural Meeting in Katsina, Strategize for 2027

Local Government Campaign Coordinators for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in Katsina State have held their inaugural meeting ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, held on Tuesday at the Ahmad Babba Kaita Gubernatorial Campaign Office in Katsina, was attended by coordinators from all 34 Local Government Areas of the state.
The coordinators deliberated on strategies for winning the 2027 elections for the African Democratic Congress, ADC, at all levels.
The meeting was convened by the State Coordinator of the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign, Alhaji Surajo Aminu-Makera, who charged the coordinators to ensure a rancour-free campaign anchored on peaceful conduct and strict adherence to INEC guidelines and security regulations.
He expressed confidence in the choice of candidates for the party in the state.
“I remain confident that the ADC has made the best choice by electing Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as its Presidential flag bearer and also in Katsina State with Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita as the gubernatorial candidate. With these two strong, experienced and popular candidates, I can assure you that we are good to go,” Aminu-Makera said.
According to him, the party has seen increased momentum ahead of 2027, with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar obtaining the ADC expression of interest and nomination forms for the presidential contest.
He directed the LGA coordinators to, within the next 10 days, consult widely and appoint committed persons as ward coordinators, who will in turn appoint polling unit coordinators.
He cautioned that the selection must be based on trust and commitment to the ADC and carried out through wide consultation with party stakeholders in the respective LGAs.
Aminu-Makera also announced that similar structures for the gubernatorial candidacy of Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita and for National and State Assembly candidates will soon be constituted, adding that all coordinators and party officials must work together for the success of the party.
At the end of the meeting, communication channels comprising all members were opened, with the State Coordinator promising that his doors will remain open for advice and other issues relating to the campaign.
