The Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has approved the appointment of six Commissioners-Designate, subject to confirmation by the State House of Assembly.
The appointees are Hon. Lucky Barau, Gurara Local Government Area, Hon. Isah Wakili, Bosso Local Government Area, Dr. Isah Adamu, Kontagora Local Government Area, Hon. Emmanuel Alamu, Magama Local Government Area, Hon. Shuaibu Saidu Kaboji, Mashegu Local Government Area and Mohammed Danladi Garba, Borgu Local Government Area.
A statement issued by Alhaji Abubakar Usman, Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG) in Minna on Monday also stated that Governor Bago approved the appointment of Alhaji Nma Kolo as Chief Political Adviser while Yahaya Emilugi, Yusuf Tagwai and Salman Yusuf were named Special Advisers on Political Matters for Zones A, B and C respectively.
The SSG stated that the appointments form part of the present administration’s efforts to strengthen governance, improve service delivery and ensure broader representation across the State.
The Governor congratulated the appointees and urged them to apply their experience and commitment to the development of Niger State, the statement added.
The Commissioners-Designate are expected to appear before the House of Assembly for screening and confirmation in line with the law.
