The Founder of The New Seraph Evangelical Ministries Worldwide and Iya Aladura General, Dr Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye, has called on eligible voters in Nigeria to assess the competence and past administrative records of candidates in the 2027 general elections, noting that many of the contenders have served in various administrative capacities in the past.
Speaking during the eighth edition of the Night of Divine Experience (NODE 8.0) in Sapade, Ogun State, Yomi-Sholoye said voters must approach their choices with careful evaluation and spiritual wisdom.
Yomi-Sholoye said, “Before casting your ballot, thoroughly examine every candidate’s past administrative performance, public leadership history, and proposed plans for Nigeria.
“Every eligible voter should look for competence and past administrative records of all candidates, as each one of them has held different political offices.”
She added, “Assess their proven competence, governance record, and policy vision to ensure you elect a leader truly capable of managing Nigeria’s affairs justly and effectively.”
The cleric also condemned the reported inducement of voters, saying, “Let us reject the exchange of our future for monetary inducements or temporary favours, standing firm against vote-buying and recognising that our votes shape the destiny of our state.”
She further called on religious leaders to preserve the integrity of the church, noting that the pulpit must not be reduced to a platform for political endorsements.
She said, “Religious leaders must preserve the spiritual integrity of the church by remaining non-partisan. The pulpit is a holy place established to proclaim biblical truths, advocate for justice, and offer spiritual guidance to all people, regardless of their political affiliations.
“It must never be reduced to a platform for political endorsements, partisan campaigns, or party propaganda. Our calling as spiritual leaders is to speak truth to power and shepherd our communities with fairness and impartiality.”
