Hundreds of youths from across Katsina State on Saturday converged on Katsina to appreciate the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita, for facilitating federal government employment for them during his tenure at the National Assembly.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Spokesman of the ABK Gubernatorial Campaign, Abubakar Ahmed, and made available to newsmen in Katsina.
According to the statement, the event was organised under the auspices of the Agarzayo Development Foundation, and was also used to inaugurate the Foundation and unveil a book titled “The True Definition of a Leader”, chronicling the performance of the former lawmaker.
The statement quoted the Founder and Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Dr. Mubarak Isah Mani, as saying the gathering was organised to thank Senator Kaita for giving the beneficiaries the opportunity to serve the nation at the federal level.
Dr. Mani, according to the statement, said while some leaders had neither created job opportunities nor brought meaningful development to the state in their official capacities, Senator Kaita achieved both as a member of the House of Representatives for Kankia, Kusada and Ingawa Federal Constituency, and as Senator representing Katsina North.
“This distinguished personality, whom we are proud to associate with at all times, has positively impacted our lives and communities, and we feel indebted to support his candidature to become the next governor of our dear state in 2027,” the statement quoted Dr. Mani as saying.
The statement further quoted Dr. Mani as disclosing that the book published by the Foundation showcases Senator Kaita’s performance with pictorial evidence, adding that it is also a challenge to all elected and appointed leaders, past and serving, at all levels, to show what they achieved during their tenure.
In his response, the statement said Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita thanked the beneficiaries for the appreciation and assured them that if elected governor in 2027, the state would gain more in all areas of development.
The statement also quoted Senator Kaita as alleging that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was making efforts to thwart the apparent success of the opposition ADC in the coming 2027 election, but insisting that Nigerians had made it clear that the lifespan of the ruling party was over and were only waiting for the elections to usher in the ADC.
