    Man kills Okada rider, sold snatched machine at N310,000 in Niger

    A murder suspect Abubakar Sadiq has narrated how he killed a commercial motorcyclist, snatched the deceased’s motorcycle and sold it for N310,000 in Niger state.

    Sadiq, according to the police killed Abdulrahman Isah after boarding the machine from Bosso area of Minna to Maitumbi.

    The Police Police Relations Officer of the Niger State Police Command, (PPRO), SP Wasiu Abiodun, “On 02/01/2025 at about 2pm, a distress call was received that a lifeless body was found along Pyata-Maitumbi Bye-Pass area of Bosso”.

    He explained that the police operatives of Bosso Div moved to the scene where a body identified as one Abdulrahman Isah 20yrs of Pyata village, a motorcyclist was found in his pool of blood and his motorcycle was taken away by the suspected killer while the corpse was evacuated to a nearby hospital morgue.

    In the course of investigation, according to the police, one Abubakar Sadiq of the same village was arrested in connection with the incident and he confessed to the crime.

    According to the PPRO, the suspect narrated that, ” I boarded the motorcycle from Berger junction Bosso to Maitumbi. While on our way, I deceived the rider and diverted him to follow a lonely path along Pyata-Maitumbi Bye-Pass road where I used a stone to hit the rider on the head”.

    He further narrated that the rider became unconscious and he took the motorcycle away, later took it to Beji market, gave it to one Ibrahim Garba 35yrs of Kuyi village, Bosso who sold it at the rate of three hundred and ten thousand naira to one Bala Usman of Wushishi.

    The police said that the receivers were arrested and a sum of three hundred thousand naira was recovered from them.

    SP Abiodun said that the suspects are still undergoing preliminary investigations at the Div adding that they will soon be transferred to SCID Minna for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
