The newly appointed General manager of the Niger State Broadcasting Corporation, Mohammed Kolo has appealed for steady power supply for smooth running of the radio house from the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) insisting that erratic power to the station has almost crippled its transmitters .

Kolo stated this on Thursday during a visit to the Regional Bussiness Manager of AEDC in Minna Niger state, Engineer Samuel Odekina.

He said, ” power supply is very key to radio station to enable us perform our responsibilities to the people and the government. However erratic power supply is affecting our transmitters very hard”.

The new General Manager explained that the visit was not to fault AEDC but to plead for love and special consideration to the Radio station in terms of power supply especially at its FM station in Maitumbi area of Minna.

According to him, “we are insisting we need power supply because Niger state broadcasting Corporation has seven stations which has been down but need to be revived now. We want to reposition the stations for effective coverage of government programmes “.

He explained that there is the need for strategic partnership with the AEDC in ensuring 24hrs electricity supply from the 33KKA line.

Responding, the regional Business Manager, Samuel Odekina assured to support and cooperate with the Radio house .

He explained that the energy supply to AEDC has dropped recently adding that we will improve on distribution as soon as we get more supply quota. “We do not deny our customers of power supply, whatever is released to us must be consumed”.
