Yobe state’s topmost APC governorship aspirant in the 2027 general elections, Kashim Musa Tumsah MFR has expressed gratitude to the leadership and members of the Social Democratic Party SDP in the state for offering him the governorship ticket under the party’s platform.
Tumsah while fielding question from journalists in Damaturu the Yobe state capital, thanked the SDP for seeing him worthy of the position even as he is not a card carrying member of the party.
He said the offer is a reflection of sportsmanship in politics where the choice of a credible chief executive of a state goes beyond party lines but a deliberate decision to ensure that the state gets the best.
KMT further stated that he still remains and will contest the governorship position under the APC but will appreciate the support of other political parties in the state who have shown him their partnership and support.
While speaking on the recent purported endorsement of a possible successor to the incumbent governor Mai Mala Buni, Tumsah described it as a “mere rumour because there has not been any conclusion on what kind of primary to be adopted, stressing that the process has stages.
He called on people of the state to continue to support him and the APC as he pledged to provide an all inclusive administration in the state.
Tumsah who arrived the state amidst a mammoth crowd that welcomed his motorcade throughout the local governments from Potiskum to Damaturu said his mission to the state was merely to attend two wedding ceremonies.
He thanked all APC supporters, his admirers and people of the state for their support to his aspiration.
