    Breaking: Governor Bago suspends Niger varsity vice chancellor, Adamu

    Niger state Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has ordered the immediate suspension of the Vice Chancellor of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu.
    The governor also ordered the suspended vice chancellor to hand over to the next ranking professor in the institution.
    Although Professor Adamu was due to complete his tenure in two months time, the governor accused him of insubordination and disobedient to constituted authority.
    The embattled VC, It was also learnt, that has been locked in internal crisis with the university union bodies over his high handedness in the management of the institution.
    NEXTER confirmed from informed sources within the university management Professor Hassan Ibrahim, a deputy vice chancellor, has been appointed in acting capacity .
