Osimhen free to leave Napoli for N167 billion in January

Nigeria International striker  Victor Osimhen can now leave  Napoli permanently  in the forthcoming January Transfer Windows after the Italian Serie A side  reportedly backed down  on  his release clause to €90m (about N167,699,629,800.00).

Osimhen missed moving to top European clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester  United as the English Premier League sides  refused to meet the humongous €130m (about N242,076,133,390.00) release  clause by Napoli.

The 25-year-old striker  is now  on  loan to Galatasaray until the end of the 2024–25 season after negotiations with Al-Ahli, Chelsea, and PSG  reportedly collapsed during the summer transfer window.

Galatasaray’s  vice-president Ibrahim Hatipoglu said recently that  Osimhen was happy  in Turkey, hence  he won’t leave to any club in January .

Osimhen extended his Napoli contract until June 2027 before leaving the club on a temporary transfer to Galatasaray  and his release clause was lowered to €75m from €130m.

But  there are  fresh speculations that  Osimhen  can move elsewhere  in January, as RAI Sport  claimed there is another clause in  his contract stipulating that his release clause for the upcoming winter transfer window will be €90 million, specifically for clubs outside Serie A  .

“Osimhen’s immediate future remains uncertain – in January, any club outside Italy can buy out his contract by paying around €90 million. Next summer, the amount is likely to be even lower – I don’t think that after his performances in Turkey, even if Victor gains recognition at Galatasaray, his transfer value will increase,” RAI Sport expert Ciro Venerato was quoted as saying.

In a related development, former  French  international  and Manchester United striker, Louis Saha, believes  Osimhen  has the  scoring credentials  to lift  the gloom  at the Old Trafford,  adding that the Nigerian could provide a huge boost to the club’s chances of getting back to the top again

“It would be a difficult signing to make, but I think he is exactly the type of player that Manchester United need – and that is a striker like Victor Osimhen,”  Saha told cryptocasinosuk.net.
