Dangote calls on governors to seek domestic investment to boost economy

    By Saidu Adamu

The President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has advised Nigerian Governors to look inward and encourage domestic investment instead of always pushing for foreign ones that may hardly materialise.

Speaking at the 2025 Taraba International Investment Summit (Taravest) in Jalingo on Wednesday, the business mogul explained that no foreign investors will come to invest in any part of the country without the presence of domestic investment.

He stressed that once the domestic sector is properly established and resources well harnessed, the foreign investors will willingly be attracted and come over to invest.

Dangote reassured the Taraba Government of his readiness to Invest in the state. He called on domestic investors to take the lead by taking advantage of the abundant agricultural and solid minerals potentials of the state.

In his remarks, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III commended Governor Agbu Kefas for hosting the Investment Summit.

While calling for peaceful coexistence among citizens, the Sultan also commended the governor for improvement in the security of the state in the last two years.

Governor Kefas who expressed excitement over the level of interest in the state’s resources, assured prospective investors of safety and a secured environment for their investments.

Those who graced the occasion include Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Ooni of Ife, Enitan Ogunwusi, Mr. Tony Elumelu, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and the Niger State Governor, Muhammad Umaru Bago among several other prominent Nigerians.
