The Niger State Independent Electoral Commission (NSIEC), has deployed 5249 trained adhoc staff for the conduct of the local government elections scheduled for November 1st 2025.

The Chairman of the Commission, Engineer Jibrin Imam stated this during the distribution of election sensitive materials in Minna on Thursday.

Imam said that the non sensitive materials have been duely delivered to the 25 Local Government Electoral Officers (EOs) while the distribution of sensitive materials is being done early to avoid unforseen logistically problems.

He said, “the materials are being distributed to the 4,950 polling units, 274 wards and the 25 local government areas consisting of both councillorship and chairmanship materials for the elections. In every polling unit and wards including the 25 local government we have adhoc staff on ground as returning officers, supervisors and polling clerks”.

He said that full constitutional processes were strictly followed to avoid complaints which has not been recorded either from the political parties, security agencies, observers among others.

He charged on the political actors especially the political parties to adhere strictly with the signed peace accord, assuring to ensure a level playing ground for all, while the commission remains open to listen to complaints.

While assuring that no citizen of the state would be disenfranchised, Engineer Imam said adequate arrangements have been made to enable people affected by banditry activities participate in the election while boats are available in riverine areas for movement of election materials and officials to ensure conduct of elections in such areas.
