Yobe state governorship aspirant in the 2027 elections, Barr Kashim Musa Tumsah has announced that he will provide more assistance to communities in the state in 2026.

Tumsah alias KMT, a development advocate whose humanitarian interventions in various fields spans over two decades, recently declared to run for the state’s most exalted seat following calls from overwhelming groups, associations and individuals from the state due to his support and assistance especially in rural areas.

He stated that more assistance will be extended to rural communities in 2026, especially expanding access to quality education for underprivileged children and strengthening empowerment among women and youths.

He gave the assurance in Damaturu while in company of Gov Mai Mala Buni for the presentation of the 2026 appropriation bill to the state House of Assembly on Thursday.

NEXTER reports that KMT was in Damaturu on the invitation of governor Buni to among other things support him in presenting the 2026 appropriation bill of over N515.5 billion to the assembly.

“I have always shared my concerns on the growth and development of Yobe and I have since realised that interventions in the areas of education and empowerment are key. These, I have tried to do over the years, thank God many people are reaping the fruits now,” he said.

Speaking amidst hundreds of his supporters and admirers, KMT commended the state government’s drive in moving the state forward noting that the strategic and careful handling of governance under Governor Buni have opened avenues for investments and employment.

The aspirant who said he will contest under the platform of the APC, had during his declaration to contest, promised to further put in his best to see Yobe state becoming the leading state in terms of growth, development, investment, education, empowerment, security and health among others.
