    Minna
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger state has ordered the evacuating of hamlets around Kainji Lake and surrounding forests to avoid collateral damages ahead of operation targeted at flushing out terrorists hibernating in the general area.
The Governor gave the order during a condolence visit to the Emir of Borgu, Alhaji Muhammad Haliru Dantoro Kitoro IV, at his palace in New Bussa over recent terrorists attacks resulting in the death of dozens of people.
However, few hours after the evacuation order by the Governor, terrorists attacked Kabe village of Borgu Emirate killing an 85 year woman, identified as Hajiya Amina Adamu
Blueprint learnt that the attack took place around 10pm on Tuesday  while an elderly woman, one Hajiya Amina Adamu was killed as the terrorists scrambled for food items.
“The terrorists came riding in many motorcycles, carted away food stuffs and non-food items and no case of abduction has been reported for now ” a source said.
According to Governor Bago, the affected communities/ hamlets have two months to vacate their abode around Kainji Lake to be resettled by the Borgu Emirate Council.
He said, “the resettlement of the people has become necessary to avoid collateral damage as our administration, in collaboration with the federal government, is determined to clear the forest, flush out criminals who are using Kainji Lake as their camp, making the land very unhabitable for people.
Bago decried the influx of people into the emirate without being profiled, noting that it has become a security concern even as the activities of informants have thwarted security efforts in the emirate.
” I therefore urge the emirate council to rise up to its responsibility and join forces with the security agencies and government at all levels to combat any form of insecurity in Borgu emirate.
The Governor commiserated with the Emir and the people of the Emirate, especially the families of the deceased victims
The Emir of Borgu, Alhaji Muhammad Haliru Dantoro Kitoro IV, pledged to work closely with relevant authorities to identify and prosecute informants in the Emirate, pointing out that the security of lives and property is paramount to the kingdom
