The Katsina State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Saturday organised special prayers for Nigeria, seeking divine intervention over the multi-sectoral challenges facing the country.
The prayer session was organised by the party’s State House of Assembly Aspirants/Candidates Forum and held at the Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita Gubernatorial Campaign Office in Katsina, the state capital.
Chairman of the Forum, Hon. Abdurrazak Kaita, in his welcome address, said the forum invited Islamic scholars who have memorised the Holy Qur’an to conduct a complete recitation of the Holy Book from beginning to end, with the intention of calling on Allah to come to the aid of the citizens and the nation.
According to him, tmany other citizens from all walks of life and cutting across political party lines joined in the prayers.
He said prayers were offered against corruption, armed banditry and those behind it, kidnapping, poverty, and bad leadership in the country.
In his remarks at the event, Spokesman to the Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita Gubernatorial Campaign, Abubakar Ahmed, appreciated the initiative of the organizers and prayed Allah to accept the supplications and grant lasting solutions to the hardship faced by Nigerians.
Ahmed also disclosed that his principal, Senator Kaita, the ADC governorship candidate for Katsina State, has recovered after undergoing surgery abroad and is expected back in Nigeria to fully resume political activities ahead of the 2027 polls. Kaita, who is listed as the ADC governorship candidate for Katsina among the party’s 28 governorship candidates, had earlier thanked supporters for their prayers during his recovery.
He added that special prayers were also offered for the success of the ADC Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, for the quick recovery, safe return and victory of Senator Kaita, and for the success of all ADC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
