Niger launches 5 online digital channels for tax payments

The Niger State Internal Revenue Service (NGSIRS) has launched five online digital platforms for payment of taxes directly without going through intermediaries.
The Special Adviser on Technical and Compliance at the organisation, Malam Usman N. Umar, stated this in a statement issued in Minna on Monday.
He said, “A new era of tax administration has begun in Niger State, as the Niger State Internal Revenue Service (NGSIRS) has launched its online tax payment channels which are now fully operational. The platforms allow all citizens and residents of the state to pay their taxes directly without going through any intermediary”.
He listed the online platforms to include Bank Transfer, Online Payments, Parkway Wallet, Bank Branch payment via e-Bill Pay, and POS payment.
He urged the people to use these channels from the comfort of their homes and business premises, adding that, ” NGSIRS is set to launch series of media campaigns to educate citizens on tax matters in the state”.
According to him, “The Service urged all citizens to pay their taxes promptly and and when due, to enable the administration of the Farmer-Governor, Umaru Bago, continue serving them better through the provision of public infrastructure such as schools, roads, and hospitals across the state”.
