* Awards Mokwa- Rabba road at N7bn

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger state has donated the sum of N1 billion to the victims of the recent flood disaster in Mokwa local area of the state.
The Governor has also donated 50 trucks of assorted grains to the victims to cushion their hardship
Bago announced the donations on Monday during on the spot assessment of the extent of damage by the flood,
He also announced the award of contract for the construction of the Mokwa- Rabba Road including three bridges along the road at the sum of N7b adding that ” the contract has been awarded today “.
He said, ” we want to thank the Federal Government for the donation of N2b for the resettlement of the Mokwa flood disaster victims. We also appreciate the donation of 20 trailers of grains to the victims. As a government, we in the state will release N1 billion and will provide 10 trucks each of rice, bean, maize, millet, sorghum to the flood victims”.
While commiserating with the victims of the flood disaster, the farmer Governor promised that all donations made would be judiciously distributed to the victims through a committee that will be headed by his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba,
Bago said the state government will provide land and service for the Federal Government resettlement project adding that, ” I have directed the Ministry for Land and Survey to issue a certificate of occupancy (C of O) to the Federal government to facilitate immediate construction of the resettlement homes for the flood victims”.
The Governor said that while the State government awaits the construction of the resettlement homes by the Federal government, necessary arrangement will be made to ensure that the flood victims do not remain in IDP camp for too long.
