Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers state, has resumed duty at the government house in Port Harcourt.

Fubara returned to office on Friday following the expiration of the emergency rule imposed on the state by President Bola Tinubu on March 18.

He arrived at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, at 11:40 am in the company of his wife, Ngozi; his deputy, Ngozi Nma Odu; Edison Ehie, his chief of staff; and other appointees.

The governor was received by former commissioners, local government chairmen, and other leaders of the state.

On arrival at the government house, Fubara expressed gratitude to the people of Rivers for their support.

The governor announced that he would officially address the state by 6 pm.
