The Attah-Igala and Chairman, Kogi State Council of Traditional Rulers, Dr. Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa will on April 4, 2026 turbans the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Pyatic Group, Captain Aliyu Ahmad Yakubu as Abeneche-Attah Igala.

The ceremony is billed to be held at the Atta’s Palace in Idah.

In a December 12, 2025 letter of conferment of the chieftaincy title signed on His Majesty’s behalf by the Secretary of the Igala Area Traditional Council Mal. Omala Ibrahim Oguche, the monarch notified Captain Yakubu of “a Honorary Chieftaincy Title of Igala Kingdom.”

The letter said “You, Captain Aliyu Yakubu, are being conferred with the Honorary Chieftaincy Title of Abeneche Attah-Igala.”

The revered ruler told the recipient of the title that “Your salutation shall be ‘Dooga,”.

While stating the reason for the award to the young businessman and a pilot, who is at the head of a multidisciplinary conglomerate, the Attah-Igala said “this conferment is based on your immense contribution to the socio-economic development of Igala Kingdom, Kogi State and our dear country Nigeria.”

NEXTER reports that all is now set for the coronation as invitations have been extended to very important personalities to grace the occasion.

Captain Yakubu has accepted the title and has expressed deep gratitude to His Majesty for considering him worthy of the Abeneche-Attah title, adding that it was a great honor done to him and his family.

He said this is “a new chapter that has opened,” adding that “it is not just a title to be worn, but a responsibility to be lived.”

According to Captain Yakubu, “this is an opportunity to deepen service, strengthen community, and turn shared values into shared progress.

“Leadership, at its core, is about listening more, giving more, and building paths that outlast us.
    Grateful for the trust.”

He pledged not to disappoint the monarch for the confidence reposed in him and the entire Igala Kingdom,” while also declaring that “I am ready for the work ahead.”

Captain Yakubu is a pilot turned entrepreneur and the Group Managing Director and CEO of Pyatic Group, a multidisciplinary conglomerate with investments spanning aviation, oil and gas, real estate, construction, and transportation.

He carries along more than a decade of experience as an ATPL certified pilot and aviation executive, successfully transitioning from commanding aircraft to building transformative businesses across Africa.

Captain Aliyu has served as Chief Pilot, Director of Operations, and Accountable Manager, and is currently leading the Pyatic Group in a forward thinking African enterprise delivery.

The pilot was trained at the Phoebus Apollo Aviation South Africa for Commercial Pilot License with Multi Engine and Instrument ratings, CAE Training Center, Dallas for Airline Transport Pilot License, Emirates CAE Flight Training Dubai for Command Upgrade Certification, and Nigerian College of Aviation Technology for a Masters in Aviation Management.

Captain Yakubu whose professional development includes CCNA, CCVP, and MCIT certifications, is a recipient of many awards.
