Yobe’s frontline governorship aspirant, Kashim Musa Tumsah MFR has pledged to fully address power supply faced by journalists at the state’s Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ.

Tumsah made the promise during a media parley when he visited the council Secretariat as part of his private visit to the state.

He observed that there was no light to power the facility for the comfortable coverage of the event and was informed by the council chairman that the the alternative power provided by the generator due to persistent power outages from the national grid had overwhelmed the machine.

He then promised to immediately come to the aid of the council noting that information dissemination will be very slow without electricity to power the system and gadgets used by pressmen.

He told the media practitioners that they he drove straight to the secretariat to pay homage on them because of the critical and strategic position they occupy in nation building promising to always carry them along as partners in progress while also thanking them for the reception accorded him and his entourage.

Earlier, Chairman of the Council, Comrade Rajab Mohammed while welcoming the aspirant, said the council was highly honoured to receive him as a special guest who recognises the importance of media and practitioners.

He said KMT should always feel free to approach the members for all his publicity needs and they will not disappoint him.

The aspirant who was in the state on a private visit home, was however overwhelmed by the crowd of supporters who waited for his arrival all day long after receiving the news that would be coming.
