Debutant Femi Azeez scored twice to send Nigeria’s Super Eagles into the final of the 2026 Unity Cup after a convincing victory over Zimbabwe in London on Tuesday night.

The Millwall winger opened the scoring inside the first five minutes with a clinical finish. He then sealed the victory in the 63rd minute, completing a memorable brace on his first appearance for the senior national team.

Defending champions Nigeria dominated the match from start to finish, controlling possession and creating several scoring opportunities while limiting Zimbabwe to very few chances.

Head Coach Eric Chelle expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, especially the impact of new players given opportunities during the tournament.

The result marks Nigeria’s first victory over Zimbabwe in recent encounters, following a string of draws between the two sides.

Femi Azeez, who had an impressive season with Millwall in the English Championship, has now announced himself on the international stage. The 24-year-old’s performance is expected to attract even more attention from clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

Nigeria will play against the winner of the second semi-final between India and Jamaica billed for Wednesday.
