The Chairman of El- Birru Muslim Association of Nigeria (EMAN) Hijrah Activities, Alhaji Abu Imam Onizeiza has called on youths in Ebiraland to take education and skills learning seriously to measure -up with the fast changing World.
Onizeiza who spoke during EMAN’s Hijrah activities (1448 AH) at Okene in Kogi State, said a Muslim who is ignorant as well as unskilled cannot defend or develop the Ummah.
He advised them to learn the Deen as well as courses in science, technology, trades and entrepreneurship inorder to be useful to themselves, family and community.
The chairman also advised the youths to shun drugs, thuggery and other social vices that are destructive.
He enjoined Muslims in Kogi Central to strive towards peaceful coexistence with people of other religions faith, noting that in Ebiraland, Muslims, Christians and people of other beliefs have lived together for generations.
“Let us reject hate speech, tribalism, and violence, as our strength is derived from our unity.
” Let our characters attract others to Islam and not repel them,” he advocated.
Onizeiza called on EMAN members to leverage on the legacies of previous Imams and scholars in Ebiraland by imbibing sacrifices, knowledge and discipline, adding that it is the members turn to build on their foundation as well as support Mosques, Islamic Schools and other Da’wah efforts.
Also in his speech, EMAN’s Secretary-General, Ustaz Yunus Salahudeen, thanked all those who showed support to the association’s programmes in form of donations and physical appearance, especially the guest lectuter, Prof. Adams Ahmad Okene, whom he praised for delivering an enriching paper to uplift the spirit and knowledge of the association’s members .
He urged Muslims in Kogi Central to be beneficial to humanity by being excellent in their business services and community works
