Former Senator representing Edo North at the National Assembly and People Democratic Parry’s (PDP) leader in Owan Clan, Senator Yisa Braimoh, has resigned from the party.
Senator Braimoh tendered his letter of resignation to the party’s ward chairman of his Ihieve ward 1, Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State .
Braimoh who served as the Senator representing Edo North District between 2007 and 2011, held various leadership positions within the PDP
In his resignation letter to his ward chairman, made available to journalists in Benin, he hinged his decision on irreconcilable difference within the PDP.
“My decision to resigned from the PDP is based on irreconcilable differences within the party,” he said.
He expressed gratitude to the party, its members, and leaders for their support over the years.
Though Senator Braimoh didn’t state any other reason for resignation from the PDP, observers linked the action to his new role as leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition in Edo North as well as the recent recognition of the party by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
Braimoh recently presided over the ADC coalition’s maiden inauguration in the Edo north senatorial district.
