    NECO  releases 2025 SSCE Internal results with 60.26% credits in English, Maths

    * Reschedules exams for 599 candidates in Adamawa

    The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the 2025 SSCE results with 818492  candidates representing 60.26% getting five credits and above in English and Mathematics.

    The Registrar of the Council, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi while releasing the results in Minna on Wednesday stated that 1, 144,496 candidates representing 84.26% got credit and above irrespective of English and Mathematics.
    He explained that 1, 367, 210 candidates registered for the examination while 1, 358, 339 candidates sat for the examination, adding that the number of candidates with special needs is 1, 626.
    Professor Wushishi said that the council is in touch with the Adamawa state government to complete the disrupted examination in eight schools involving 29 papers in Lamorde local government of the state.
    He said, ” I wish to also draw your attention to a case in Lamorde government of Adamawa state involving eight schools which were affected by a communal clash resulting in the disruption of our examinations from 7th to 25th July 2025.
    He explained that a total number of 599 candidates affected by the crisis are required to write 13 subjects and 29 papers that were disrupted .
    “We have since commenced talks with the state government will a view to conducting the examinations for the affected schools. This means that the results of the eight affected schools cannot be released now because they are incomplete “, he explained.
    While appreciating the council staff for the smooth release of the results, the Registrar said that the number of candidates involved in various forms of malpractice shown a reduction of 61.58% from 10,094  candidates in 2024 to 3, 878 candidates in 2025.
