Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger state has extolled the virtues of former Governor of the state tate, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, as he turns 70 years old, describing his suppor for the administration across party lines as encouraging and invaluable.
The Governor stated this in a birthday message, through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, describing the celebrant as outspoken, courageous, and a role model to many.
The Governor recounted the significant contributions of the former governor to the growth and development of Niger State in particular and Nigeria as a whole, particularly when he served as a civil servant and rose to Permanent Secretary at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and during his tenure as governor (2007–2015).
“The impact of the administration of the celebrant is still glaring and beneficial to the people. I appreciate and commend you for looking beyond political party differences and supporting the present administration for the overall benefit of the state and its people”, he said, while reaffirming the commitment of the administration to always reciprocate the good gesture.
He thanked Allah for the life of Dr Babangida Aliyu, noting that attaining 70 is a milestone and a testament to Allah’s favour, grace, and mercy and prayed
that Allah will continue to guide the celebrant, grant him more years, increase his wisdom, and keep him in good health to continue to be an inspiration to younger generations.
