Members of the Abuja Muslims Forum Zakat and Sadaqah Team on Thursday visited the Kuje and Suleja Correctional Centres to provide welfare supports to inmates in the spirit of the Eid-al- Adha celebration.
The team members also prayed for the inmates and admonished them to be prayerful as well as build their hopes on Allah.
A member of the team, Imam Abduljeli Badmos, urged the inmates not to lose hope but to use their time in the centre wisely by drawing closer to Allah as well as drawing lessons from the trials and triumph of Prophet Yusuf (Alaghi Salam).
The group’s team lead, Alhaji Lukman Amao, advised the inmates to learn empowerment skills during their stay in detention, so that they can help themselves reintegrate and stabilize properly into the society after their release.
Amao also prayed to Allah to grant them ease as well as guide them towards the righteous paths after their release from the centres.
In another development, the Abuja Muslims Forum in collaboration with Jaiz Charity Foundation, disbursed Zakat to 20 beneficiaries to support their businesses, education and healthcare.
The Amir of the forum, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Ajani, called on well to do Nigerian Muslims to pay their Zakat through the Abuja Muslims Forum, in order to ease the hardship faced by struggling Muslims in the FCT.
